Your Own Plasma

PRP / PRF

Your skin's own renewal.

A natural approach to skin renewal. A small blood sample is taken and prepared to separate your own plasma, which is then used with microneedling to help refresh your skin's texture, tone and overall quality.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is the difference between PRP and PRF?

Both are prepared from a small sample of your own blood. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is spun to separate the platelet-rich part of your plasma. PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is spun more gently, without additives. Amna will recommend the right option for you.

Does the blood sample hurt?

It feels just like a routine blood test, a quick sharp scratch. Only a small amount of blood is needed.

Does the treatment hurt?

Most people find it very comfortable. A numbing cream is applied beforehand, and you'll usually just feel a light vibration or prickling.

How many sessions will I need?

Many people have a course of around three sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart. Amna will plan the right number for your skin and goals.

Are there any side effects?

Redness, mild swelling and tightness are common and usually settle within a day or two. You may also have a small bruise where the blood was taken. Amna will discuss all risks with you before treatment.

Is it suitable for everyone?

It isn't suitable if you're pregnant, under 18, have a blood or clotting disorder, take blood-thinning medication, have active acne, an infection or cold sores in the area, or have taken isotretinoin (Roaccutane) in the last six months. Prefer not to have a blood sample? Microneedling with exosomes may suit you instead.
