Questions

Frequently asked

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are highly purified fragments of DNA that support the skin's natural repair and renewal. They're used to improve the overall quality, firmness and texture of the skin.

Are they really from salmon?

Yes. Most polynucleotides are derived from salmon DNA, which is highly purified before use. Because of this, they aren't suitable if you have a fish allergy.

Does it hurt?

Most people find it very manageable. The injections are very fine, and numbing cream can be applied beforehand to keep you as comfortable as possible.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people have a course of three sessions, spaced around two to three weeks apart, with top-ups every six to twelve months. Amna will plan the right course for you.

Are there any side effects?

Small bumps at the injection points, mild redness, swelling or tenderness are common and usually settle within a day or two. Bruising is possible. Amna will discuss all risks with you before treatment.

Is it suitable for everyone?

It isn't suitable if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, or have an active skin infection or cold sore in the area, have a fish or seafood allergy. Some medical conditions may need extra care, so Amna will check your medical history at your consultation.
