Questions
Frequently asked
What are exosomes?
Exosomes are tiny messenger particles that cells use to communicate. In skincare, exosome serums are a newer addition and are applied to the skin after microneedling, while it's at its most receptive. Amna will tell you all about the product she uses at your consultation.
How is it different from microneedling alone?
The microneedling part is the same. The difference is the exosome serum applied straight afterwards, which makes this a more advanced treatment. Read about microneedling on its own.
Does it hurt?
Most people find it very comfortable. A numbing cream is applied beforehand, and you'll usually just feel a light vibration or prickling.
How many sessions will I need?
Many people have a course of around three sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart. Amna will plan the right number for your skin and goals.
Are there any side effects?
Redness, mild swelling and tightness are common and usually settle within a day or two. Some people have light flaking as the skin renews. Amna will discuss all risks with you before treatment.
Is it suitable for everyone?
It isn't suitable if you're pregnant, under 18, have active acne, an infection or cold sores in the area, a history of keloid scarring, or have taken isotretinoin (Roaccutane) in the last six months. Amna will check your medical history at your consultation.
